Bethesda announced Tuesday that a remastered version of The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion is real, and Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscribers can play the game now.

Xbox Game Pass Ultimate — a CNET Editors’ Choice award pick — offers hundreds of games you can play on your Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, Xbox One and PC or mobile device for $20 a month. A subscription gets you access to a large library of games, with new titles like Avowed added monthly plus other benefits, such as online multiplayer and deals on non-Game Pass titles.

First released in 2006, Oblivion is an open-world RPG that takes place after the events of The Elder Scrolls 3: Morrowind. A fanatical cult is trying to open gates to the demonic realm of Oblivion, and it’s up to you to stop them and seal the gates forever.

The remastered version of the game has enhanced visuals thanks to Unreal Engine 5, and it includes the base game and the Shivering Isles and Knights of the Nine expansions. You can also purchase or upgrade to the Deluxe Edition for additional armor — including the notorious horse armor — quests, weapons and other goodies.

Oblivion launched on PC and Xbox 360, before it was ported to PlayStation 3 in 2007. The game was highly acclaimed, winning multiple awards in 2006, like the Ultimate and Xbox Game of the Year awards at the 24th annual Golden Joystick Awards.
