Nintendo Switch 2 to launch soon in Malaysia
If you have been eyeing for an official unit of the Nintendo Switch 2, you are in luck as the gaming console has been spotted in the SIRIM database as registered by official distributor Convergent Distribution Sdn Bhd.
The Switch 2 has been a worldwide hit with over 3.5 million units sold in just four days, the console features an upgraded NVIDIA SoC that delivered next-gen graphics capabilities, while sporting a much larger 7.9-inch screen than the original Switch despite not being an OLED screen, the console also features an updated joycon that snaps magnetically into the unit and a sturdier adjustable kickstand.
Meanwhile, Singapore retailer Toys “R” Us has announced the availability of the Switch 2 at 26 June 2025, with prices going on for S$719.99 (~RM2385) for the console and S$769.99 (~RM2550) for the Mario Kart game bundle, we can expect prices to be slightly lower here hitting at approximately RM2199 for the console and RM2399 for the game bundle, if our gut feel is correct.
Since the console has started its type approval process, we can the launch date and official pricing in the coming weeks.
