Steam Summer Sale: IGN Game of the Year 2019 with thrilling single-player narrative and stunning graphics is 85% off – NotebookCheck.net News

Control has dropped to its lowest price ever on Steam as part of the Steam Summer Sale. The game, which now costs only $5.99, is a highly rated single-player action-adventure title by Remedy of Alan Wake and Max Payne fame.

With games like Alan Wake, Max Payne, and Quantum Break under their belt, it can be argued that Remedy Entertainment is one of the, if not the, most underrated AAA game developers right now. No game showcases this better than Control.

Released in 2019 for the PS4/Xbox One and PC, Control is a single-player, third-person, action-adventure title with a suspenseful, supernatural narrative and impactful combat. IGN crowned the game as their “Game of the Year” for 2019. However, the game didn’t receive the attention that it deserved when it launched.

So, Control might’ve slipped you by in the past years. However, gamers now have the perfect opportunity to give the game a shot, as it has dropped to its lowest price ever of $5.99 on Steam.

Control nails the presentation and gameplay

Control tells the story of Jesse Faden, whose search for her missing brother leads her to The Oldest House, the headquarters of the secretive Federal Bureau of Control, or FBC. The FBC researches and contests against paranormal forces, which becomes the basis of Control’s central narrative.

As soon as Jesse Faden arrives at the FBC, she learns that the agency is under attack by a supernatural force, the “Hiss”, which she must fight against. Jesse’s fight against the Hiss allows us to explore the weird and wonderful building of The Oldest House. The ominous structure is full of paranormal activity, strange rooms, weird hallways, and possessed agents. These agents are the main enemies that Jesse must defeat along her way.

Combat-wise, players shoot their way forward. The protagonist also possess telekinetic abilities like hurling things towards enemies, using concrete blocks as a shield, and more. Clearing main story missions and side quests also grants ability points which the players can use to upgrade Jesse and her weapon and unlock new skills.

    Control system requirements

Control looks stunning when graphics settings are pushed upwards, as the game features extensive RT effects. So, you will want to play the game at high settings if you have the hardware. Per the “Recommended” system requirements listed on Steam, Control needs:

    • An Intel Core i5-7600K or AMD Ryzen5 1600X CPU
    • A GeForce GTX 1060/RTX 2060 (for RT) or RX 580
    • 16 GB of RAM
    • 42 GB of storage

In short, Control is an exciting ride, one that is an “incredible marriage of storytelling, world building, exploration, and combat” according to Easy Allies.
