New Casio EFK-100D mechanical watches now available to buy in the US with limited stock expected – NotebookCheck.net News

Casio’s new EFK-100D-2A and EFK-100D-7A mechanical watches are now purchasable in the US for $280. Both feature sapphire glass, a see-through back, and 40-hour power reserve in a 43.5mm steel case. Stocks are expected to be limited.

Casio’s long-awaited foray into mechanical watchmaking has officially gone on sale in the US. Spotted on the official company website merely a few days ago, these are the EFK-100D-2A (featuring a blue dial) and the EFK-100D-7A (with a silver dial) – both now available to buy right off Casio’s US website.

The EFK-100D is Casio’s latest attempt to bring mechanical engineering into the Edifice line, traditionally known for quartz chronographs and hybrid smart features. These new models strip it all back in favor of a classic three-hand automatic movement with a date window at 6 o’clock. Each watch includes a see-through case back to show off the rotor and inner workings in motion.

While both models share the same 43.5mm stainless steel case, their dials are what sets them apart. The EFK100D-2A sports a deep blue dial with a forged-carbon-like texture, while the EFK100D-7A features a lighter silver-white dial with similar detailing. Casio has used electroforming to create these textured surfaces, giving them a layered, almost organic look. Indices and hands are mirror-polished with luminous tips for low-light visibility.

The specs are practical and well-rounded for the price:

    •     Movement: Automatic with manual winding
    •   Power reserve: ~40 hours
    •   Accuracy: -35 to +45 seconds per day
    •   Glass: Sapphire crystal
    •   Water resistance: 100 meters (10 bar)
    •   Case thickness: 12.5 mm
    •   Band: Solid stainless steel, 3-fold clasp
    •   Weight: 148 grams

Additional features include a hacking seconds hand, 24 jewels, and 21,600 vibrations per hour. The band tapers smoothly into the case, with alternating brushed and polished links for contrast. Both models come with a magnetic-resistant construction, and the sapphire crystal gives them added scratch protection.

As this is Casio’s first real mechanical watch under the Edifice moniker, stock availability will likely be limited – especially given the relatively competitive pricing for an automatic watch from a major Japanese brand. Both models are shipping now from Casio’s official store. A previously spotted third black-dial model, the EFK-100CD-1A, has its own product listing page as well – but the status is still “Notify Me” – so we can expect that to change in the coming days.

You can also check out the Casio Edifice EFV620D-1A4V on Amazon.
