Epic Games Store has curated a new list of the best indie games launched in 2025. All the listed titles are available on the platform and other storefronts like Steam. Here’s more information about the ones that have made it to the list:

• Eternal Strands – released in January 2025, this indie game takes inspiration from The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and Shadow of the Colossus. This adventure title costs $39.99 on Epic Games Store and has a score of 76 points on Metacritic.
• Citizen Sleeper 2: Starward Vector – also released in January 2025, this sci-fi indie entry puts players in a moody cyberpunk world and is said to be a dice-driven RPG. It costs $24.99 (curr. $18.74 on the Humble Store) when there’s no sale in place and features an overall Metacritic score of 86.
• Promise Mascot Agency – released in April 2025, this adventure indie game lets players explore a mysterious cursed Japanese town. The title has a score of 77 on Metacritic, and it costs $24.99.
• Rain World: The Watcher – an additional content for a survival platformer that takes the story of Rain World beyond the original journey. The base game costs $24.99 and scores 66 on Metacritic. As for the DLC, it costs $14.99.
• Cabernet – a 2D narrative RPG that launched in February 2025. It’s said to be a visual novel and costs $19.99. The title has a Metacritic score of 88.
• Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 – released in April 2025, this indie game puts players in a world that’s inspired by Belle Époque France. It’s a turn-based RPG with real-time mechanics and has a Metacritic score of 91. The title costs $49.99.
• Skin Deep – an immersive FPS game with a Metacritic score of 79. It launched in April 2025 and costs $19.99.
• Mandragora: Whispers of the Witch Tree – released in April 2025, it’s a side-scrolling soulslike indie game that’s set in a dark fantasy world. It flaunts a Metacritic score of 72 and costs $39.99.
• Beholder: Conductor – an adventure indie game set in a dystopian future. It’s a rail-based surveillance spin-off that doesn’t have a Metacritic score yet. However, this title, worth $13.99, has a good overall player rating on Steam.
• The Stone of Madness – a real-time tactical stealth game that’s about breaking free of a corrupted 18th-century monastery. It features a Metacritic score of 75 and costs $29.99.
• 33 Immortals – described as a co-op action-roguelike that puts 33 players against hordes of enemies. This indie game costs $19.99 and doesn’t have a Metacritic score yet.
• Wanderstop – a business management simulator that’s set in a vibrant fantasy world. It costs $24.99 and features a Metacritic score of 80.
• Star Overdrive – described as a high-speed action-adventure with an open-world setting. This indie game costs $34.99 and scores 69 on Metacritic.
