The Jurassic Park franchise has stayed relevant for over three decades, and its mostly because of its massive pop culture imprint – dinosaurs brought back to life, a park gone wrong, and the constant clash between science and nature. That thrill translates well into games, and Jurassic World Evolution 2 is still one of the best examples of how to turn a film franchise into a deep, systems-driven simulation.

Developed by Frontier Developments, JWE2 builds on the original 2018 title and gives players more control over managing their own dinosaur theme park – this time with bigger environments, more management layers, and a stronger narrative component. As a player, you won’t be simply constructing paddocks and food stalls, instead, you’ll be managing science divisions, weather events, dinosaur behavior patterns, and unexpected power outages. It’s all very Jurassic-theme coded.

Lowest recorded price till date

Right now, Jurassic World Evolution 2 is available for just $2.99 on Steam, which translates into a 95% discount and its lowest ever recorded price, according to SteamDB. The discount is part of a weekend deal that ends July 17, 2025. It’s worth noting that the game was also free to claim on the Epic Games Store from March 20–27, 2025.

For a game that originally launched at $59.99 in November 2021, this drop has tremendous value. The game sits at 88% positive across over 39,000 Steam user reviews, and reception from critics was solid as well. IGN rated it 7/10, lending praise for its variety of dinosaurs and systems, while PC Gamer called it “a compelling and relaxing park management game that doesn’t demand too much,” scoring it 72/100.

Even though some reviews point out that the core gameplay loop can become repetitive after extended play, it still offers dozens of hours of content, especially for fans of simulation and management titles. While some longtime players also argue the sequel doesn’t push boundaries far enough from the original, the improvements in terrain tools and marine species are hard to ignore.
