vivo X Fold 5 launches in Malaysia for RM6999

vivo Malaysia has officially launched the vivo X Fold5, marking the brand’s first foldable smartphone in the Malaysian market. This premium device combines advanced hardware, AI-driven features, and luxurious design to deliver a transformative user experience for professionals, creators, and power users.

Weighing only 217g, the vivo X Fold5 is lighter than many traditional flagship smartphones, yet it’s packed with high-end features. Its ultra-slim profile of just 0.92 cm when folded is made possible by a kinematic hinge that can withstand up to 600,000 folds, reducing screen creasing and ensuring long-term durability. The device is also built for resilience, boasting IPX8 and IPX9 water resistance, IP5X dust resistance, and 2nd-Gen Armor Glass for maximum protection in daily use.

The X Fold5 features two dazzling displays: an 8.03-inch main screen and a 6.53-inch cover display. Both panels offer up to 4500 nits of local peak brightness, ensuring visibility even in direct sunlight. With 2K+ resolution, 120Hz refresh rate, HDR10+ support, and Dolby Vision, the display quality is exceptional for both work and entertainment.

Photography takes center stage with the ZEISS co-engineered imaging system. The device features a 50MP VCS Bionic Main Camera powered by the Sony IMX921 sensor, a 50MP ultra-wide camera with a 120° field of view, and a 50MP ZEISS Telephoto Camera with 3x optical zoom and up to 100x HyperZoom. ZEISS T* coating reduces flare and ghosting, while AI enhancements deliver professional-grade photos with enhanced color fidelity and detail.

Powering the X Fold5 is the flagship Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor, which delivers a 30% boost in CPU performance, 25% improvement in GPU performance, and 20% greater power efficiency over its predecessor. Paired with 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 512GB of UFS 4.1 storage, the phone ensures fast, fluid multitasking and seamless performance under load. The 6000 mAh BlueVolt battery — the largest ever in a vivo foldable — supports 80W Dual-Cell FlashCharge and 40W wireless charging, ensuring quick recharges and all-day power.

Designed for productivity, the vivo X Fold5 introduces new AI-enhanced tools. Origin Workbench enables multitasking across five apps simultaneously, streamlining work processes. vivo DocMaster allows seamless PDF annotation, format conversion between PDF, Word, and PowerPoint, and in-document AI support for writing and editing. Features like Smart Call Assistant and AI Transcript Assist enable real-time transcription, summarization, and language translation. Users also benefit from integrated Google Gemini AI, which assists in writing emails, planning, and boosting creativity directly within the Android experience.

The vivo X Fold5 is priced at RM6,999 for the 16GB + 512GB variant. Pre-orders begin on 29 July 2025 via the official vivo Malaysia website. Customers can also enjoy special promotions from 2 August to 1 September 2025 at vivo Concept Stores.

Promotional offers include up to 24 months of 0% instalment plans and cashback with selected banking partners. Affin Bank offers a RM100 instant rebate and 5x Rewards Points for the first 100 credit card users. PayLater by Grab users enjoy RM60 off with a minimum spend of RM550 and 0% instalment for up to four months. SPayLater customers can opt for up to 12-month plans with a 1.5% monthly fee.

Additionally, customers can receive a rebate of up to RM200 when trading in eligible devices. Trade-in rebates are available at all vivo Concept Stores, and only selected models qualify for the extra RM200 rebate.

With its breakthrough design, flagship performance, and productivity-first features, the vivo X Fold5 is positioned to be the ultimate foldable for users who demand more from their smartphone experience.
