30-year-old gamer regrets spending 16 hours daily on his PC and eating junk food – NotebookCheck.net News
A 30-year-old gamer has taken to Reddit to tell a cautionary tale about developing a painful repetitive strain injury after spending 16 hours a day on his PC. His post roused the group, with other gamers offering both supportive and preventative advice in the comment section.
A gamer’s post about a recent health scare is serving as a wake-up for the PC gaming community on Reddit. The Redditor — Brave-Bell-3422 — shared in the r/buildapc subreddit that he was recently diagnosed with repetitive strain injury (RSI) after experiencing pain in his arms, hands, and back.
The Redditor took no time in blaming it all on his lifestyle. He confessed that he spends about 16 hours every day in front of his computer, shuffling between work and late-night gaming, all while eating a lot of “inflammatory junk food” and doing no exercise. He also put some blame on his equipment, saying his chair is a “big problem” and he is looking to buy a better chair with a budget of $450.
Besides, he also announced his decision to quit gaming for a month in order to focus on anti-inflammatory food and running. “If it’s this bad at 30, I can only imagine how bad it will get by 50 if I don’t change,” he said in his post.
The community members chipped in their contributions, with some offering support and others sharing their experiences. The top commenter, Ezekiel862, said he went through something similar at the age of 29. He applauded the lifestyle changes, calling the anti-inflammatory diet a game changer and noting that he now games smarter by taking breaks regularly.

I have always been fascinated by technology and digital devices my entire life and even got addicted to it. I have always marveled at the intricacy of even the simplest digital devices and systems around us. I have been writing and publishing articles online for about 6 years now, just about a year ago, I found myself lost in the marvel of smartphones and laptops we have in our hands every day. I developed a passion for learning about new devices and technologies that come with them and at some point, I asked myself, “Why not get into writing tech articles?” It is useless to say I followed up the idea — it is evident. I am an open-minded individual who derives an infinite amount of joy from researching and discovering new information, I believe there is so much to learn and such a short life to live, so I put my time to good use — learning new things. I am a ‘bookworm’ of the internet and digital devices. When I am not writing, you will find me on my devices still, I do explore and admire the beauty of nature and creatures. I am a fast learner and quickly adapt to changes, always looking forward to new adventures.
