Samsung Malaysia introduces Galaxy A07 and Galaxy A17 5G

Not into the latest and greatest? Samsung’s new entry-level Galaxy A07 and Galaxy A17 5G might just be what you are looking for, these two devices come with essential AI-powered features for productivity and entertainment, as well as strengthened security with a class leading 6-year software update policy.

Starting with the Galaxy A17 5G, it features a 6.7-inch FHD+ Super AMOLED display with a 90Hz refresh rate, the phone is powered by a Exynos 1330 processor with 8GB RAM and 256GB of expandable storage, it has a 5000mAh battery that easily offers up to two days of battery life.

The phone has IP54 dust and water resistance, while the front glass is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass Victus, making this one of the more durable phones in its class.

Camera wise, you are getting a 50MP f/1.8 main, 5MP ultrawide and 2MP macro cameras, while the front camera takes 13MP stills. The Galaxy A17 5G runs One UI 7 out of the box based on Android 15, the phone supports Google Gemini Live and Circle-to-Search for enhanced productivity, Samsung says that there is a dedicated Gemini hardware key but based on the phone’s image, it is most likely the power button.

As for the Galaxy A07, it has a similar screen size as the Galaxy A17 5G thought it is an LCD panel that pushes HD+ resolution at 90Hz, the phone is pretty sleek at 7.6mm and comes in nice color options of Black, Light Violet and Green, it also has IP54 dust and water resistance that resists unfortunate moments.

Powering the phone is a Mediatek G99 processor paired with 6GB RAM and 128GB of expandable storage, it is juiced by a 5000mAh battery that offers up to two days of battery life with fast charging support, the phone runs on One UI 7 based on Android 15 out of the box and will also support Google Gemini Live and Circle-to-Search, though it lacks the dedicated Gemini Hardware key on the Galaxy A17 5G.

As for its cameras, the Galaxy A07 comes with a dual camera setup that consists of 50MP main and 2MP depth cameras, the front camera will take 8MP stills.

Both phones are equipped with Samsung Knox Vault that protects personal information in a separate tamper-resistant hardware, they also come with Theft Protection that allows remote locking of the home screen and force biometric authentication to restrict further unauthorized access, these phones also prevent the installation of apps from unauthorized sources and blocking malicious activity.

The Galaxy A17 5G retails from RM899 for the 8GB+128GB model and RM999 for the 8GB+256GB model, customers will receive a RM100 rebate as a launch offer and receive a 1-year extended warranty and free 25W travel adapter.

No pricing has been unveiled for the Galaxy A07 but we reckon to be around RM599 like its predecessor.

The phones will be available for purchase starting 5 September 2025 onwards.
