It’s time for the annual MTV Video Music Awards, letting fans cast votes for their favorite nominees in categories like Best Collaboration, Best New Artist, Best Choreography and Video of the Year. And in recent years, the introduction of social categories has opened the gate for internet hitters to snag an award.

Hosted by L.L. Cool J, the star-studded event features Brittany Snow, Ciara, Busta Rhymes, Sabrina Carpenter, Ricky Martin and KPop Demon Hunters’ stars Audrey Nuna, EJAE and Rei Ami among its lineup of presenters and performers. And guess what? Your favorite KPop Demon Hunters song, Golden, is vying for Song of the Summer in one of the social categories. 

Up for the top honor of Artist of the Year is Beyoncé, who’s nominated alongside the likes of Bad Bunny, Kendrick Lamar, Lady Gaga and Taylor Swift. Video of the Year has seven nominees, including Kendrick Lamar, Ariana Grande, Bruno Mars and Billie Eilish. 

Mariah Carey is set to belt out some of her greatest hits as this year’s honoree for the Video Vanguard Award, so viewers should tune in to ear-stroll through the singer’s catalog from the ’90s to the present. Her upcoming album is due to drop later this month, and the new single, Type Dangerous, is in the running as a Best R&B contender at the VMAs.

How to watch the 2025 MTV VMAs

You can stream the awards broadcast on Sunday at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT on Paramount Plus Premium and CBS. Right now, the streaming service is offering a deal that cuts the annual price in half.

Cord-cutters who prefer a live TV streaming experience can watch CBS or the MTV channel’s simulcast on platforms such as YouTube TV, DirecTV (check out the $30 entertainment package), Hulu with Live TV or Fubo (its new $56-per-month plan carries CBS).
