    The MTV VMAs always manages to bring out the stars and this year’s awards at the UBS Arena in New York are no different, with pop royalty like Mariah Carey, Sabrina Carpenter and Ricky Martin all on the bill. Here’s our guide to where to watch the MTV Video Music Awards 2025 online from anywhere with a VPN and for FREE in some countries.

    In terms of the awards themselves, Lady Gaga (another performer on the night) is rolling things back like it’s 2010, as she leads the overall nominations with 12 including Artist of the Year, Song of the Year and Best Album. Die With a Smile collaborator Bruno Mars is next in line on 11, with Kendrick Lamar (10), Sabrina Carpenter (9) and Rosé (8) not far behind.

    With the VMAs a fixture on the awards calendar for more than 40 years, LL Cool J is set to host alone for the first time. He’ll be joined on stage by a parade of famous presenters, with Drew Barrymore, Ice Spice and Paris Hilton all confirmed. Plus, there will be an appearance from the singers behind this year’s breakout act Huntr/x, flushed with the success of Netflix record breaker KPop Demon Hunters.

    For starters, viewers in Australia will be able to watch through the free-to-stream 10 website and app. It won’t go out there live, however – it should start streaming from 8.30pm AEST on Monday, September 8 at 8.30pm AEST (that’s 6.30am ET / 11.30am BST).

    To watch live for free, you can take advantage of Paramount Plus’s free trial in all countries where the platform is available.
