DJI just accidentally leaked its new Osmo Nano action cam – and it looks like a strong Insta360 rival

The DJI Action 2’s modular build apparently provides some inspiration for the upcoming Osmo Nano.

    • DJI’s next action camera apparently confirmed in X post and YouTube Short
    • Image shows modular design with small camera and screen add-on
    • Camera design strongly resembles Insta360 Go 3S

Leaks of upcoming product details are an issue that camera manufacturers would rather avoid. Sometimes, though, an instance of human error can undo all their hard work, and a camera that was previously under wraps is revealed ahead of schedule.

DJI’s social media team have just done that, mistakenly posting an official image of the long-rumored DJI Osmo Nano action camera in a post otherwise dedicated to the recently launched DJI Mic 3. The post, which appeared on X (formerly Twitter), was swiftly taken down, but not before being screenshotted by users.

The screenshots have been scooped up and posted (on his own X feed, natch) by serial drone leaker Jasper Ellens, and appear to confirm previous leaks concerning the camera.

Oops! In a unexpected turn of events @DJIGlobal themselves LEAKED the #OsmoNano on X. They accidentally posted the image of the ‘Own the Moment’ on a #Mic3 promotion video. Exposing the #Nano in full photographic detail. Cheers!https://t.co/Bde7jkyMUo pic.twitter.com/mhyHXGUP3xSeptember 8, 2025

The Osmo Nano is an ultra-compact modular action camera apparently designed to rival the Insta360 Go series, and the new image confirms that the package consists of both a tiny standalone camera and an add-on unit with a screen (and likely extra battery power and storage space).

Previously, rumors about the Osmo Nano have stated that it will be available with either 64GB or 128GB of built-in memory, an SD card slot, an OLED touchscreen and a magnetic body (on both the back and sides) for easy mounting.

Pricing is predicted to be $369 for the 64GB edition, and $399 for the 128GB edition – which put it in direct competition with the similarly priced – and proportioned – Insta360 Go 3S. Insta360, of course, only recently launched the Insta360 Go Ultra, which is a fantastic action camera but not quite as tiny as its predecessors – or, from the looks of it, the DJI Osmo Nano.

    Yet more confirmation via YouTube

If the unintended leak from DJI itself wasn’t enough confirmation of the Osmo Nano’s existence and its proximity to launch, a YouTube Short, apparently posted early in error, provides more evidence.

The release day of the #OsmoNano was set for today… so this youtuber thought it was good idea to prerecord a Short on YouTube this morning. Another ‘oops’ after DJI themselves leaked the second picture online. I still wonder if it will ‘drop’ today.https://t.co/Bde7jkyMUo pic.twitter.com/8XdQWVISv2September 10, 2025

Jasper Ellens posits a theory that DJI was planning to launch the Osmo Nano today, but that the influencer had got his timings wrong with regards to the lifting of the embargo. Hence this gun-jumped reveal which has, naturally, been taken down too.

Stay tuned, because these mistaken leaks could be a sign that DJI is launching the Osmo Nano very soon – perhaps even later on today.
