Nubia Z80 Ultra camera flagship to get massive camera upgrades and do away with punch hole – NotebookCheck.net News

Boasting a display entirely without a notch or punch-hole and a main camera with a 35mm lens, the Nubia Z70S Ultra is one of the most unusual camera flagships on the market. The Nubia Z80 Ultra is expected to stay true to this concept, but will feature an ultra-wide-angle camera with a significantly larger sensor and other upgrades.

The Nubia Z70S Ultra launched in April this year, and the launch of its successor is now already on the horizon. Nubia manager Zhang Lei recently confirmed initial details about the features of the next-generation flagship. Accordingly, Nubia will continue to use a display that does not have a punch-hole or notch. Instead, the selfie camera will be hidden beneath the AMOLED panel.

Nubia will continue to install a 144 Hz display, but the 360 Hz touch sampling rate reportedly ensures faster response to inputs, and supposedly can even be increased to 3,000 Hz for gaming. Another new feature is that the battery of the Nubia Z80 Ultra can be charged wirelessly. According to previous rumors, the manufacturer is said to be testing a model with a significantly larger 7,100 mAh battery. The camera flagship is reportedly based on the brand-new Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, making it one of the most powerful smartphones on the market.

According to leaker Digital Chat Station, the focus will once again be on the cameras, as Nubia will continue to use a main camera with a 35mm equivalent focal length instead of the approximately 23mm of most competitors. The ultra-wide-angle camera will receive two significant upgrades. Firstly, a significantly larger 1/1.55-inch sensor—more than double the sensor area compared to the 1/2.88-inch sensor of the previous model. Secondly, a faster f/1.8 lens will be installed.

Growing up in regional Australia, I first became acquainted with computers in my early teens after a broken leg from a football (soccer) match temporarily condemned me to a predominately indoor lifestyle. Soon afterwards I was building my own systems. Now I live in Germany, having moved here in 2014, where I study philosophy and anthropology. I am particularly fascinated by how computer technology has fundamentally and dramatically reshaped human culture, and how it continues to do so.
