    GMKtec releases affordable NucBox M2 Pro S mini-PC globally – NotebookCheck.net News

The NucBox M2 Pro S is a compact mini-PC packed full of ports and expansion options. Available for less than $300 at launch, GMKtec’s latest mini-PC can be configured with up to 32 GB of RAM and 1 TB of storage from the factory too.

GMKtec has refreshed its NucBox mini-PC series, less than a month after introducing the NucBox M5 Ultra globally. Like the M5 Ultra before it, the NucBox M2 Pro S is significantly less powerful than GMKtec’s EVO range, which includes the AMD Strix Halo-powered EVO-X2 (curr. $1,499 on Amazon).

Specifically, GMKtec has based the NucBox M2 Pro S around the Core i7-1185G7, a quad-core processor from Intel’s Tiger Lake family. An ageing option by all accounts, the Core i7-1185G7 has a 28 W TDP and an Iris Xe Graphics G7 iGPU with 96 Execution Units (EUs) at its disposal. Meanwhile, the NucBox M2 Pro S itself also contains M.2 2242 and M.2 2280 SSDs, dual SODIMM slots for DDR4-3200 RAM and the following ports within a 114 x 106 x 42.5 mm housing:

    • 1x 2.5 Gigabit LAN
    • 1x 3.5 mm jack
    • 1x DC input
    • 2x HDMI 2.0
    • 1x USB 2.0 Type-A
    • 1x USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A
    • 2x USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A

Currently, the NucBox M2 Pro S starts at $279.99 as a barebones unit without any RAM or storage included. By contrast, the cheapest pre-configured unit starts at $349.99 with 16 GB of RAM and 512 GB of storage. Alternatively, GMKtec also sells a 32 GB of RAM and 1 TB of storage SKU for $419.99. Please see the company’s NucBox M2 Pro S store listing for more details.
