Lenovo adds multi-award-winning titles worth over $40 to upcoming free games lineup – NotebookCheck.net News

Through its Legion Gaming Community, Lenovo has given away a good number of free games in the past. Now, it has announced two more freebies that are set to go live on October 29 and November 12, 2025.

Lenovo has given away four free games in September 2025 through its Legion Gaming Community. As for October, the company appears to have focused on the Legion Go 2 giveaway, as it has announced only one free game that’s set to go live on October 29, 2025.

This upcoming free game is Shady Part of Me, a puzzle-platformer game that was released in 2020. Its story revolves around a girl and her shadow. The narrative explores the themes of personal growth and mental health, and there’s an interesting puzzle mechanic in place.

The game basically has two worlds: the light world and the shadow world. All the actions that players take in the shadow world affect the light world and vice versa. This introduces an interesting aspect when solving the puzzles of the game.

While the game has earned multiple awards since its release, there are some aspects where this upcoming free game fell a little short. For instance, as some players note, the narrative is a bit too cryptic and abstract, lacking clear exposition. The poetic themes can also feel muddled at times.

Shady Part of Me generally costs $14.99 when there’s no sale in place, comes with proper controller support (8BitDo Ultimate 2C curr. $25.49 on Amazon), is tagged as Steam Deck Verified, and has a 90% positive rating on Steam. On October 29, 2025, a limited number of Steam keys will be given away on the Lenovo Legion Gaming Community.

Frostpunk will be given away as a free game in early November 2025

Lenovo has also announced the free game that will be available in early November 2025. It’s Frostpunk, a critically-acclaimed simulation title from 2018 that has earned a handful of awards.

At the core, Frostpunk is a city-building survival game that’s set in an alternate history. It puts players in the lead of the last surviving city, and the main goal is to survive the extreme cold. The gameplay mostly involves managing the well-being of the citizens, enacting laws, and making challenging decisions for survival.

Now, while it’s a critically acclaimed title, some players felt that the city-building mechanics could’ve had a little bit more depth. Some also note that the conclusion of this soon-to-be-free game was abrupt.

Frostpunk sells for $29.99, has a 92% positive rating on Steam, and has the Steam Deck Playable compatibility tag. Lenovo will give away a limited number of keys that can be redeemed on Steam on November 14, 2025.
