Redmi K90 Pro Max: Xiaomi officially confirms ‘Pro Max’ model in sub-flagship series – NotebookCheck.net News
The Redmi K90 series is Xiaomi’s next performance-focused sub-flagship lineup, set to launch in October. The company has now officially confirmed the Redmi K90 Pro Max, marking the first ‘Pro Max’ model in the Redmi K lineup.
The Redmi K90 series is an upcoming sub-flagship smartphone lineup. Previously, it was expected that the company would introduce two models initially, including a standard and a Pro variant, like the previous K80 series. However, it has been confirmed that Redmi will be launching a new Pro Max model in the K90 series.
In a livestream, Xiaomi President Lu Weibing confirmed the Redmi K90 Pro Max model. The specifications of the K90 Pro Max are still undisclosed. However, Lu Weibing confirmed that the smartphone will launch in October in China.
While last year’s K80 Pro featured a 6.67-inch panel, leaks suggest the K90 Pro will feature a smaller 6.59-inch display. This could potentially make room for a Pro Max model with a larger screen. However, the chipset may remain identical. Recently, a Geekbench listing of the Redmi K90 Pro surfaced, revealing it is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5.
Notably, this will be the second Pro Max phone from Xiaomi in 2025. Last month, the company introduced the flagship Xiaomi 17 series, including the vanilla Xiaomi 17, the 17 Pro, and the 17 Pro Max. For reference, the standard model starts at CNY 4499 (~$631), the Pro at CNY 4999 (~$701), and the Pro Max at CNY 5999 (~$841). The Redmi K90 Pro Max may debut in the early CNY 4,000 (~$561) price segment. As a more affordable alternative, it may miss out on features, including a Leica camera setup and a secondary display.
The global launch of the Redmi K90 Pro Max is not confirmed yet. However, similar to the previous Redmi K series phones, Xiaomi may also rebrand it under the Poco F series for markets outside China.
