New Casio collab watches spotted in first real-world images – NotebookCheck.net News

Real-life photos of Casio’s Stranger Things collaboration showcase the DW-5600 G-Shock’s dark finish, red-accent backlight and themed tin, plus the AQ-800 hybrid with layered vine dial and “001” clasp stamp. Images back earlier images and pricing details ahead of the December Japan launch.

Casio’s Stranger Things tie-in watches have appeared in first real-world photos, which confirms several design details first shown in press images and adds a few small surprises. The two models on display are the square DW-5600-based G-Shock and the oblong AQ-800 analog-digital. They are both dressed in the series’ vine and Upside Down references and packaged in themed tins (also shown in the images).

The G-Shock shown in the images has a dark, near-matte finish rather than a glossy black, which gives it a way more muted/subdued look than promo images. The dial area uses a patterned filter over the module that features vine graphics; the Stranger Things logo sits at 12 o’clock in a red tone that matches the red backlight seen in earlier press shots. A close photo of the tin also shows the special packaging artwork with tangled vines and the Stranger Things logotype, and the box lid’s rivet-style detailing further matches the model’s styling.

The AQ-800 example makes the collab’s hybrid layout clearer in person. The analog dial carries a layered vine print over the face, with applied Arabic numerals visible at least in close-up shots. The small digital window below the dial is framed by the same vine motif. The metal bracelet and adjustable folding clasp are also on display, and the clasp stamping reads “001”.

Both watches appear quite faithful to the spec sheets: modest case sizes, everyday quartz modules, and the costume cues (engraved casebacks, themed packaging, printed band rings) that make limited collaborations so special. Casio has listed a December launch in Japan for these pieces in prior materials, with prices shown at roughly ¥17,600 (~$114) for the AQ-800 and ¥19,800 (~$128) for the DW-5600 model. Global availability is still unclear from the imagery, but the IRL shots make it clear that Casio is moving ahead with both models and the themed packaging.
