Samsung’s first WOLED gaming monitor rumoured to be one of five OLED gaming monitor releases next year – NotebookCheck.net News
According to an early report, Samsung is preparing to introduce five new gaming monitors in the first few months of 2026. All OLED monitors, one is rumoured to be the first time Samsung has turned to LG Display for a WOLED-backed option.
In recent years, Samsung Display has supplied Samsung Electronics and other monitor manufacturers with two QD-OLED panels to choose from in time for a new generation of monitor releases. This year, for instance, the former delivered two Gen 4 QD-OLED panels. Both spanning 27-inches diagonally, one outputs at 4K and 240 Hz, while the other delivers a 500 Hz refresh rate but drops to a 1440p resolution to achieve this ultra-high refresh rate.
According to new reports, Samsung Electronics is preparing almost half a dozen new monitors that it will supposedly introduce throughout 2026. Surprisingly, none of those mentioned feature Gen 5 QD-OLED panels. Instead, the report talks of the S27FG604SC, S27HG612SC, S27HG802SC and S32HG802SC containing the same Gen 3 or Gen 4 QD-OLED panels as older models.
Stranger still, the S27HG702WC is said to be Samsung Electronics’ first gaming monitor with an LG Display-derived WOLED panel at its core. Allegedly, this panel will output at 4K/165 Hz or 1080p/330 Hz using Dual Mode technology just like the larger UltraGear OLED 32GX850A that LG already sells (curr. $799.99 on Amazon). Currently, Samsung Electronics’ supposed OLED monitor release plans throughout Q1 and Q2 2026 are as follows:
Week 1: S27FG604SC
- 27-inch 2K/500Hz QD-OLED.
- G60SF series derivative with one fewer USB port compared to the Odyssey OLED 602SC.
Week 6: S27HG612SC
- 27-inch, 2K/240Hz QD-OLED.
- Simplified upgrade from the G61SD series without height and swivel stand adjustments.
Week 17: S27HG802SC & S32HG802SC
- 27-inch 4K/240Hz QD-OLED.
- Same underlying hardware as G80SD but with 90 W USB Type-C and DisplayPort 2.1 ports.
Week 20: S27HG702WC
- 27-inch 4K/165 Hz LG Display WOLED.
- Dual Mode technology support for 1080p/330 Hz alternative mode.
