Dell Pro Max no more: Leak reveals Dell Pro Precision 7 16 laptop with Intel Panther Lake processors – NotebookCheck.net News

A new leak has revealed that Dell will soon be rebranding its professional laptops again. Despite ditching its Latitude, Inspiron and Precision brands less than a year ago, it looks like Dell will soon replace the Pro Max 16 Plus with the Dell Pro Precision 7 16.

In January, Dell dissolved its Latitude, Inspiron, Precision and XPS series with what it considered simpler Dell, Dell Pro and Dell Pro Max brands, each with Base, Plus and Premium subdivisions. With that being said, the XPS name lives on via the XPS 13 9345 and XPS 13 9350 with their with Qualcomm Snapdragon SoCs and Intel Lunar Lake processors, respectively (curr. $1,099 on Amazon).

Less than a year later and an early Geekbench listing has offered an insight into Dell’s upcoming Pro Max series refresh. Specifically, a laptop with the model number ‘PW716260’ has been identified on the popular benchmarking platform, with ‘MB16250’ being the model number for the Dell Pro Max 16 Plus we reviewed in October.

As the screenshot below shows, Geekbench links ‘PW716260’ to the marketing name ‘Dell Pro Precision 7 16’. In short, it seems as though Dell is about to jettison ‘Pro Max’ for ‘Pro Precision’, albeit while adding ‘7’ for good measure. Presumably, ‘7’ is there to denote a Core Ultra 7 processor, with this example being benchmarked featuring a Core Ultra 7 366H from Intel’s upcoming Panther Lake series.

Presumably, this means that there will be a Pro Precision 9 16 too if Dell releases a Core Ultra X9 388H variant as well. Given the timing of this Geekbench leak, we suspect that Dell will unveil Pro Precision laptops next month during CES 2026 in Las Vegas. Please see our other article for a rundown of how the iGPU inside the Core Ultra 7 366H fares against competitors.
