Yes 5G advanced now available for prepaid customers

Yes has officially launched the country’s first-ever 5G Advanced prepaid product with the introduction of the yes 5g advanced starter pack, priced at just RM10. Designed to be the most accessible entry point into next-generation connectivity, the new starter pack offers 20GB of data with uncapped speeds and a 30-day validity period, making it the longest-valid RM10 prepaid plan currently available in the Malaysian market.

With this launch, Yes becomes the first telco in Malaysia to bring 5G Advanced technology to prepaid users, extending premium next-generation connectivity beyond postpaid and broadband customers. The move allows more Malaysians to experience faster speeds, lower latency and more responsive connections that better support modern digital lifestyles, from high-quality streaming and mobile gaming to content creation and AI-driven applications.

According to Wing K. Lee, Chief Executive Officer of YTL Communications, the launch represents a significant step in making advanced connectivity affordable and inclusive. He said that when Yes first introduced 5G Advanced in October, all postpaid and broadband customers were upgraded at no additional cost, and the company is now extending the same world-class 5G technology to prepaid users. By offering the RM10 starter pack, Yes aims to remove barriers for users who want to stream, game and create at the highest quality anywhere in the country, while supporting Malaysia’s ambition to become an AI-ready digital nation.

Following its initial debut in the Klang Valley, Yes has now completed the rollout of 5G Advanced across its entire network footprint. The network currently covers 82.4 percent of populated areas nationwide, reinforcing Yes’ leadership in Malaysia’s 5G landscape and positioning the country as the ninth globally to adopt this pre-6G standard. The enhanced network delivers stronger indoor penetration, broader outdoor coverage and higher throughput for both downloads and uploads, ensuring a more consistent experience even in busy or high-traffic environments.

These improvements translate into tangible benefits for users, including higher-definition audio and video streaming, smoother and lower-latency connections for gaming and industrial use, and more robust performance in crowded locations. The 5G Advanced network is also designed to be AI-ready, supporting latency-sensitive AI workloads that pave the way for future physical AI applications.

The yes 5g advanced starter pack is positioned as an ideal choice for users who demand instant responsiveness, seamless multitasking and the highest quality settings across everything they stream, play and create. To support the launch, Yes is rolling out a new campaign titled “generasi advanced,” highlighting how 5G Advanced powers experiences such as ultra-HD music for audiophiles, ultra-smooth gaming for casual and competitive players, and the highest-quality streaming for creators and live streamers.

In addition to the new starter pack, all existing Yes prepaid customers have already been upgraded to Yes 5G Advanced at no extra cost, with no action required. This makes Yes the only telco in Malaysia to deliver 5G Advanced connectivity by default across its entire customer base, covering postpaid, prepaid and broadband users alike.

The yes 5g advanced starter pack is now available through Yes Stores and authorised dealers, the Yes website, the MyYes app, the Yes Official Store on Shopee, the Yes Store on TikTok Shop, and will also be available at MyNews and CU convenience stores from 22 December onwards.
