Samsung’s Galaxy Z TriFold uses a special wireless charging module – NotebookCheck.net News

The Samsung Galaxy Z TriFold (Image source: Samsung – edited)

Samsung achieved a slim profile for its first tri-folding smartphone by using a custom Galaxy Z TriFold wireless charging module made by Witz. This module supports 15W induction charging and is Qi2 ready.

Samsung recently launched the Galaxy Z TriFold, its first trifolding phone, which manages to stay quite thin despite housing a massive 10-inch foldable display. Achieving this slim form factor required the use of specific internal components, including a newer wireless charging module that fits the tight chassis.

Witz recently revealed that they are the company behind the new charging module found in the Galaxy Z TriFold. The company revealed that it created a newer and slimmer module specifically for Samsung’s first tri-folding phone. A Witz official also stated that the company’s slimmer wireless charging module has been recognized for performance and stability by Samsung, as it was used in the company’s first tri-folding phone.

The new charging module supports up to 15W wireless induction charging based on the Wireless Power Consortium’s Qi standard. This comes as no surprise, as Samsung has been using 15W wireless charging on its flagship devices for a couple of years. The Galaxy Z TriFold also features Qi2 Ready certification, which means the device doesn’t have built-in magnets. It supports Qi2 accessories only when it is used with a Qi2-ready case that has built-in magnets.

Samsung’s next flagship series, the Galaxy S26 series, is expected to bring a wireless charging upgrade. Reports suggest that the Galaxy S26, Galaxy S26+, and Galaxy S26 Ultra have Qi2.2 certification with built-in magnets. As for wired charging, the Galaxy S26 Ultra is rumored to support 60W charging, whereas the S26 and S26+ are said to support 25W and 45W charging, respectively.
