TQ Wuling Bingo EV launches in Malaysia from RM67,800

TQ WULING has officially launched the all-new TQ WULING Bingo EV in Malaysia, marking a significant milestone in the country’s push towards more accessible electric mobility for everyday drivers. As the first model introduced under the TQ WULING brand, the locally assembled compact electric hatchback is positioned as one of the most affordable electric vehicles in the Malaysian market, targeting urban users who want to make the switch to EV ownership without a premium price tag.

The TQ WULING Bingo EV is offered in two variants, with the Bingo PRO priced at RM67,800 and the Bingo MAX at RM72,800. To celebrate its market debut, TQ WULING is extending exclusive launch incentives through its Bingo’s Fabulous Five Perks, which include a RM5,000 cash rebate. With this rebate applied, the on-the-road price is reduced to RM62,800 for the Bingo PRO and RM67,800 for the Bingo MAX, strengthening its position as a highly attainable EV option for Malaysians.

The introduction of the Bingo EV stems from a strategic collaboration between Tan Chong Motor Holdings Berhad and SAIC-GM-Wuling, combining Tan Chong’s decades of local manufacturing expertise and distribution strength with SGMW’s proven leadership in global electric vehicle technology.

According to Daniel Ho, Group CEO of Tan Chong Motor Holdings, the Bingo EV is the first electric vehicle to be locally assembled at the Tan Chong Plant, built on nearly 50 years of automotive manufacturing heritage. He added that the launch reflects Tan Chong’s commitment to advancing Malaysia’s electric mobility ecosystem by delivering an affordable EV that meets local needs.

Echoing this sentiment, Lisa Li, Chief Operating Officer of the Overseas Business Department at SAIC-GM-Wuling, highlighted Malaysia as a key market in SGMW’s ASEAN strategy. She expressed confidence that the combination of SGMW’s EV expertise and Tan Chong’s strong local presence will help support Malaysia’s transition towards greener mobility, alongside other focus markets such as Indonesia and Thailand.

As part of the launch, the first 500 customers who place an order for the TQ WULING Bingo EV are entitled to the Bingo’s Fabulous Five Perks, valued at over RM12,000. These benefits include the RM5,000 cash rebate, an eight-year EV battery warranty covering up to 120,000km and an eight-year or 160,000km drive motor warranty, low monthly instalments from RM625 through selected financial institutions, and complimentary comfort and convenience items such as a 7kW home EV charger, a portable 3-pin charger and premium solar tinting. Customers also receive attractive insurance benefits and EV-specific coverage through selected insurance panels. Bookings are now open via the tqwuling.my website with a refundable RM50 booking fee.

Designed for daily urban use, the TQ WULING Bingo EV focuses on efficiency, practicality and ease of driving. The Bingo PRO is equipped with a 31.9 kWh lithium-iron-phosphate battery, while the Bingo MAX features a larger 37.9 kWh battery. The PRO offers a CLTC-rated range of up to 333km, while the MAX extends this to up to 410km on a single charge. Both variants are powered by a front-mounted 50 kW electric motor producing 68 PS and 150 Nm of torque, paired with front-wheel drive and a single-speed reduction gear for smooth, predictable acceleration in city traffic.

At the heart of the Bingo EV is SGMW’s proprietary MAGIC Battery system, which has been deployed in over three million EVs globally with zero recorded fire incidents. The battery system is engineered with a comprehensive “5 ZERO” safety assurance covering fire risk, water ingress, corrosion, performance degradation and user concerns. It carries an IP68 rating for dust and water resistance, making it suitable for Malaysia’s wet weather conditions and flood-prone areas. In terms of charging, DC fast charging brings the battery from 30 to 80 percent in approximately 35 minutes, while AC charging takes around 4.5 hours for the PRO and 5.5 hours for the MAX from empty to full.

Visually, the Bingo EV blends retro-inspired styling with modern EV design cues. Its compact dimensions make it agile in tight urban spaces, while the exterior features rounded curves, a closed grille design and distinctive X-shaped LED daytime running lights that give it a recognisable character. For Malaysia, the Bingo EV is available in Milky White, Neon Blue and Lavender Purple, all paired with a contrasting black roof for a youthful, two-tone appearance.

Inside, the cabin continues the retro-modern theme with dual-tone leatherette upholstery in Caramel Latte, perforated seats for comfort, and glossy ceramic-style trim panels. The dashboard houses dual 10.25-inch displays for the digital instrument cluster and infotainment system, both supporting Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Practicality is a strong focus, with 15 storage compartments throughout the cabin and a boot capacity ranging from 395 litres to 1,240 litres with the rear seats folded.

Safety is a key highlight of the TQ WULING Bingo EV, with Malaysia becoming the first market globally to offer the model with six airbags as standard across both variants. The vehicle’s structure incorporates ultra-high tensile steel for added rigidity, while active safety systems include ABS, EBD, ESC, tyre pressure monitoring, blind spot warning and a low-speed pedestrian alert. These features are designed to provide peace of mind in daily urban driving.

The Bingo EV is backed by an eight-year EV battery warranty, an eight-year drive motor warranty and a five-year vehicle warranty against manufacturing defects. To support ownership, TQ WULING has established six dedicated showrooms across Peninsular Malaysia, alongside seven aftersales centres through the Tan Chong service network, with more locations planned.

To mark the launch, TQ WULING is hosting the Bingo Fab 5 Weekender from 20 to 21 December 2025, inviting customers to visit showrooms for test drives, on-the-spot gifts and exclusive booking perks. More information on the TQ WULING Bingo EV is available at www.tqwuling.my and through TQ WULING’s official social media channels.
