Return of AniMe Matrix but on a gaming desktop: Asus teases ROG G1000 ahead of CES 2026 debut – NotebookCheck.net News
Asus has confirmed that it will be presenting a new gaming tower next month during CES 2026 in Las Vegas. In the meantime, it has hinted that the ROG G1000 will contain the spiritual successor to the AniMe Matrix from older ROG Zephyrus laptops.
Asus is making no secret that a new generation of Republic of Gamers (ROG) devices will be arriving next month. Almost two weeks have now passed since the company confirmed that it will use CES 2026 to unveil ‘what’s next in ROG gaming’. In the intervening period, Asus has teased both a new Zenbook Duo and a GoPro-themed version of the ProArt PX13.
Now, the company has revealed initial details about a forthcoming gaming tower case. At this stage, it is unclear whether this is just a case or a full desktop system. If the ROG G700 (2025) is anything to go by (curr. $1,526 on Amazon), then the ROG G1000 is the latter rather than the former.
Asus is yet to confirm any technical specifications yet. Instead, it has focused on the AniMe Holo, which can be seen mulitple times in the video below. By the looks of things, AniMe Holo is a new iteration of the AniMe Matrix displays found on multiple ROG Zephyrus laptops. This time though, it seems that the AniMe Holo utilises a persistence of vision optical illusion to create the effect of moving images. Please see the video below for more details.
