Oppo Reno 15 Pro Max officially unveiled: 200MP camera, IP69 and 80W charging – NotebookCheck.net News

The Oppo Reno 15 Pro Max is a new and well-equipped smartphone that comes with a 5G mobile modem, an up-to-date operating system and a high-resolution camera. The model is already available for purchase outside of China.

The Oppo Reno 15 Pro Max just been officially unveiled and is now available, namely in Taiwan. There, the smartphone is on offer for the equivalent of around $797, making it a rather expensive smartphone.

The device measures 161.26 x 76.46 millimeters, is 7.65 millimeters thick and weighs around 205 grams. It currently only comes in one configuration: 12 GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 512 GB of UFS 3.1 storage. This is powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 8450 SoC, which features eight processing cores and a 5G modem.

The device features a 6.78-inch display with a maximum brightness of 1,800 cd/m² and a resolution of 2,772 x 1,272. A maximum refresh rate of 120 Hz is specified, but this can also be limited to 60 or 90 Hz in order to extend battery life. The battery has a nominal capacity of 6,345 mAh and can be charged at up to 80 watts. The AMOLED display is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass.

The main camera delivers 200 MP, while the telephoto lens offers 50 MP and 3.5x optical zoom. The wide-angle lens also has 50 MP, but unlike the main and telephoto lenses, optical zoom is not on board. According to Oppo, the Reno 15 Pro Max can also be used for underwater photography thanks to its IP69 certification. However, we would advise caution in this regard, as even small, barely visible damage to the casing can impair water resistance.

My current focus is particularly on mini PCs and single-board computers such as the Raspberry Pi – so in other words, compact systems with a lot of potential. In addition, I have a soft spot for all kinds of wearables, especially smartwatches. My main profession is as a laboratory engineer, which is why neither scientific contexts nor the interpretation of complex measurements are foreign to me.

Growing up in regional Australia, I first became acquainted with computers in my early teens after a broken leg from a football (soccer) match temporarily condemned me to a predominately indoor lifestyle. Soon afterwards I was building my own systems. Now I live in Germany, having moved here in 2014, where I study philosophy and anthropology. I am particularly fascinated by how computer technology has fundamentally and dramatically reshaped human culture, and how it continues to do so.
