Xiaomi Soundbar with wireless subwoofer and RGB lighting unveiled – NotebookCheck.net News

Xiaomi has a new audio system on offer. It is designed to be at least partially wireless, promises strong audio quality with relatively little effort, and comes with integrated lighting.

Silvio Werner (translated by Jacob Fisher), Published 01/08/2026 🇩🇪

Perhaps best known for its smartphones, Xiaomi also offers a variety of speakers, having just added a new set to its range. This essentially consists of a soundbar and a subwoofer, of which the latter does not require a cable connection. However, it’s not entirely wireless, as it naturally needs a power source due to the lack of a battery.

The soundbar itself features four drivers: two speakers and two passive radiators. Sound is projected at a 53° angle, which is intended to provide a better audio experience for the user seated directly at the desk, but not necessarily throughout the entire room. The subwoofer has a 96-millimeter driver and is designed to reproduce bass frequencies down to 60 Hz.

Audio content can be streamed to the system via Bluetooth 5.3, making it particularly easy to transfer audio from a smartphone. A USB port and a standard headphone jack are also available. No separate control unit, such as a wired connection, is available. Instead, the soundbar itself features a rotary knob. RGB lighting with six different effects is integrated, which can be dynamically adjusted to the music. The equalizer is also customizable.

In China, the system is currently available for the equivalent of around $70, a discounted introductory price. Information regarding an international release is still pending.

I have been active as a journalist for over 10 years, most of it in the field of technology. I worked for Tom’s Hardware and ComputerBase, among others, and have been working for Notebookcheck since 2017. My current focus is particularly on mini PCs and single-board computers such as the Raspberry Pi – so in other words, compact systems with a lot of potential. In addition, I have a soft spot for all kinds of wearables, especially smartwatches. My main profession is as a laboratory engineer, which is why neither scientific contexts nor the interpretation of complex measurements are foreign to me.

Growing up in regional Australia, I first became acquainted with computers in my early teens after a broken leg from a football (soccer) match temporarily condemned me to a predominately indoor lifestyle. Soon afterwards I was building my own systems. Now I live in Germany, having moved here in 2014, where I study philosophy and anthropology. I am particularly fascinated by how computer technology has fundamentally and dramatically reshaped human culture, and how it continues to do so.
