Samsung Could Bring Advanced Privacy Screens to Entire Galaxy S26 Range

Galaxy S26 Might Finally Tell Nosy Neighbours to Look Away

    Android Headlines

It looks like Samsung is gearing up to drop a pretty massive upgrade with the upcoming Galaxy S26 lineup, and for once, it’s actually something that might change how we use our phones daily. According to a fresh report from FNNews, the rumored AI-powered “Privacy Display” isn’t going to be gatekept behind the most expensive model anymore. While earlier whispers suggested you’d have to shell out for the Ultra to get this, it now seems like the standard Galaxy S26 and S26+ are invited to the party too.

Honestly, this is a feature we have needed for years. We have all been there—standing in a crowded metro or sitting in a tight coffee shop, trying to check a bank balance or type a password, while feeling that nagging suspicion that the person next to us is taking a peek. This new feature basically kills that “shoulder surfing” anxiety. The concept is surprisingly simple but technically brilliant: when you switch it on, the screen looks perfectly crisp if you are staring right at it, but if you look from the side, it goes dark or unreadable.

What makes this genuinely exciting is that it’s not just some software trick or a cheap plastic filter you slap on top

We all know those third-party privacy screen protectors are kind of terrible—they dim your screen, mess up the colors, and make sharing a photo with a friend a nightmare. Samsung is reportedly solving this at the hardware level using something called the “Flex Magic Pixel OLED” panel.

    Reddit

By using AI to physically control the light direction at the pixel level, they can narrow the viewing angle on demand without ruining the display quality for you. Because this requires specific screen tech, don’t expect this to trickle down to your older S24 or S25 via an update; this is strictly new hardware territory.

The real magic here, though, is the flexibility. It sounds like Samsung is going to make this “context-aware”

Imagine opening your banking app or a password manager, and the phone automatically snaps into privacy mode. Then, you switch to YouTube to show a friend a funny video, and it instantly widens the viewing angle again. That kind of seamless switching is something current phones just can’t do, and it gives the S26 a serious edge in a market where “innovation” lately just means slightly better cameras.

Of course, this does raise a big question about the S26 Ultra. If the standard models are getting this cutting-edge privacy screen, what is left to make the Ultra feel special? It is still up in the air whether the anti-reflective Gorilla Glass Armor will remain an Ultra exclusive, but Samsung is going to need something big to justify that “Ultra” price tag if the little siblings are this capable. Either way, as we get closer to launch, this is shaping up to be one of the most practical features we have seen in a long time.

Holidaygoers should pick up one of Nomad’s eSIMs to make travelling stress-free

If you’re going travelling, you’ve hopefully remembered to check your passport, convert your cash and pick up a regional power adaptor, but an easily-overlooked extra thing to prepare is a SIM card or plan which will let you get data overseas. Thankfully, eSIMs make it easy to pick up those gigabytes last-minute, or prepare ahead with a few easy steps.

eSIMs aren’t physical cards that you put in your smartphone, but digital ones which load into your phone at the tap of a button. One of the world’s top eSIM brands is Nomad eSIM, which offers you easy-to-use and affordable data packets for your holiday.

Motorola’s new Signature gives you flagship power in a slim frame

But it might not make it to the US.

Motorola just expanded its Razr brand beyond flip phones with a new book-style foldable dubbed the Razr Fold. The device packs a massive 8.1-inch folding screen and flagship-grade specs, but it’s not the only device turning heads at Motorola’s CES booth.

Alongside the new foldable phone, Motorola also unveiled a slim flagship phone called the Motorola Signature at the trade show. While not as thin as Samsung’s Galaxy S25 Edge or Apple’s iPhone Air, the Signature is slimmer than most other flagship phones on the market, measuring just 6.99mm.

Big, heavy, but ever so impressive

When Samsung finally announced its dual-hinged foldable phone towards the end of 2025 I’ll admit I was intrigued. As a Pixel 9 Pro Fold owner, I’ve embraced the foldable phone era, and so the TriFold was always going to turn my head.

I was delighted then, when I got the chance to get hands on with the Galaxy TriFold during CES 2026, giving me a taste of Samsung’s latest foldable.
