New Citizen collab chronograph launches with B642 Eco-Drive movement – NotebookCheck.net News
Citizen is celebrating Captain America’s 85th anniversary with the new CA7046-46W, a 41mm Eco-Drive chronograph featuring a blue dial, red minute track, engraved case back, packaging, and a collectible coin.
Citizen USA has officially announced the CA7046-46W to mark the 85th anniversary of Captain America. The watch goes with Citizen’s usual approach for character collabs, where a standard chronograph platform is utilized. It is a commemorative model that should still work as an everyday wearable for some.
The CA7046-46W comes in a 41 mm stainless steel case and runs on Citizen’s B642 Eco-Drive movement. The dial design is built directly around Captain America’s identity. It uses a blue base, a red minute track around the outer edge, and puts the shield emblem inside the upper sub-dial at 12 o’clock. Despite the strong character branding, the layout is still quite readable and balanced. The chronograph registers and date window are clearly visible, so the watch still feels like a functional timepiece alongside a “decorative” collectible.
The leather strap goes with the same color theme with a dark blue finish and white stitching. The case back has special engraving for the 85th anniversary, along with Captain America’s shield logo and Marvel branding. It confirms the Eco-Drive system, stainless steel construction, and water resistance as well. However, there is no individual numbering visible, which makes sense since Citizen does the same for its other limited editions as well.
Although the model is listed as a limited edition, there is no publicly stated production quantity. Also, the absence of numbering could mean that this is a limited run by availability rather than a strictly capped collector piece.
The complete presentation set includes a Captain America collectible coin, shown separately in the packaging. The coin depicts Captain America holding his shield with the text “Since 1941,” as a reference to the year the character first appeared. The packaging itself matches the theme of the collaboration, using Marvel and Citizen branding together with a red-and-black layout.
