Retired Nintendo of America president Doug Bowser joins Hasbro’s board of directors
Exec announced his departure from publisher last September, succeeded by Nintendo’s first female president Devon Pritchard
Former Nintendo of America president and COO Doug Bowser has joined Hasbro’s board of directors.
Bowser has been appointed alongside The Honest Company CEO Carla Vernón.
“We are delighted to have Doug and Carla join our seasoned and dynamic board of directors,” said chair of Hasbro’s board of directors Rich Stoddart.
“Doug and Carla bring extensive leadership experience across consumer brands and franchise management. Their expertise and guidance will be invaluable as Hasbro continues to execute its long-term innovation and growth strategy.”
Hasbro CEO Chris Cocks added: “Doug and Carla bring deep expertise in building iconic brands, creating meaningful consumer experiences, and driving innovation and transformation across their respective industries.”
Bowser retired from his position at Nintendo of America in September 2025. He was succeeded by VP of revenue, marketing, and consumer experience Devon Pritchard, becoming Nintendo’s first female president.
Pritchard joined the publisher in 2006 and was previously executive vice president of business affairs and public relations.
Nintendo of America appointed Bowser as vice president of sales and marketing in 2015, becoming senior vice president a year later. In 2019, he was appointed president and COO following the retirement of Reggie Fils-Aimé.
“Leading Nintendo of America has been the honour of a lifetime, and I am proud of what our team has accomplished both in business results and the experiences we’ve created for consumers,” said Bowser.
