Audio-Technica Japan has unveiled the limited-edition ATH-WP900SE wooden headphones made with solid ash wood to create a detailed sound tuned for superior reproduction of string instruments such as guitars. The ATH-WP900SE is available for pre-order at an MSRP of 110,000 yen (~$750) from A-T Japan for release on February 20, 2026.

The over-the-ear headphones use 53 mm drivers mounted in earcups with acoustic ports, voice coils, and vents all designed specifically to reproduce the sounds of guitars with warmth, accuracy, and clarity, according to the company. The drivers have a frequency response of 5 to 50 kHz, with a 98 dB/mW sensitivity, 37-ohm impedance, and 1,000 mW maximum power input.

The solid ash earcups are custom-lacquered by guitar maker Fujigen in a three-tone sunburst pattern similar to the finish of the company’s guitars. Memory foam covered by artificial leather lines the headband and earpads for comfort during long listening sessions. The earcups can swivel flat for transport in the included carrying pouch.

The ATH-WP900SE can connect to guitar amps and digital audio players using the included, unbalanced 3.5 mm and balanced 4.4 mm A2DC cables measuring 3.9 ft. (1.2 m). The ATH-WP900SE weighs 8.3 oz. (235 g).
