OnePlus is rolling out a massive February 2026 OxygenOS update, bringing powerful new video editing tools and an enhanced AI Eraser to its smartphone lineup. The update rollout has already begun for eligible devices ranging from the new OnePlus 15 series down to the OnePlus 8.

New month, new OxygenOS update. After updating the last batch of eligible devices to OxygenOS 16 based on Android 16, OnePlus has now released a fresh system update for its vast smartphone portfolio, bringing a ton of improvements to the Photos app, new video editing tools, and upgrades to AI Writer and AI Eraser features.

The February 2026 system update version B40P02 (BRB1EX01 for phones and BRB3EX01 for tablets) has already started hitting OnePlus devices and is expected to reach all users by around March 5. The update is headed to a wide range of devices, including the latest OnePlus 15 series (curr. $899 on Amazon), OnePlus 13 and 13R, OnePlus 12 series, OnePlus 11, the entire Nord lineup, all the way through the Nord CE 2 and Nord CE 5G from 2021, OnePlus tablets, alongside several older models running OxygenOS 13 and 14.

The Photos app gets the biggest set of changes. Gesture animations when swiping through images are now smoother, and thumbnail parsing has been optimized on OxygenOS 16 devices for faster loading. The built-in video editor is also far more capable, now supporting cutting, splitting, multi-clip stitching, music, text overlays, speed adjustments, and cropping, essentially turning the gallery app into a lightweight editing suite.

AI-powered tools see notable improvements, too. For example, AI Eraser now produces cleaner results with fewer visible traces in removed areas, while the Remove reflections feature better handles glare in document shots and portraits with glasses. There’s also a new “Popout” option inside the Collage tool that lets subjects break out of the frame for a layered effect. Additional filters for Motion Photos, screenshots, and edited media should make sorting large libraries easier, and Auto Straighten can now quickly fix skewed buildings and portraits.

On OxygenOS 16 devices, AI Writer’s “Write anything” mode expands to support compositions, proposals, job descriptions, and even video scripts. Private Safe has been sped up as well, now allowing users to edit media directly without removing it first.
