The Lenovo F101 is a new smartwatch that is now listed on Banggood for about $32, although this is still a preorder and additional shipping and import fees are excluded. Deliveries should not be expected before mid-March. As usual, warranty claims might be difficult to enforce as the seller is based in China.Â
The price already makes it fairly clear that this Lenovo smartwatch is rather basic. Users won’t have access to maps, the wearable does not have a GPS module either. Therefore, the distance covered during workouts can only be estimated based on step count and stride length rather than measured precisely. That said, the Lenovo F101 smartwatch has a 1.96-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 410 x 502 pixels and rounded edges, which should mainly improve how it feels in use.Â
The watch is 0.39 inches thick, sports a rotating crown and comes with an IP68 rating, even though it’s probably not suitable for swimming. Either way, the wearable can measure heart rate and blood oxygen saturation, and sleep tracking is also on board. Phone calls via Bluetooth are supported, and the F101 can control music playback on a paired smartphone. Last but not least, Lenovo advertises a typical battery life of around one week.

I have been active as a journalist for over 10 years, most of it in the field of technology. I worked for Tom’s Hardware and ComputerBase, among others, and have been working for Notebookcheck since 2017. My current focus is particularly on mini PCs and single-board computers such as the Raspberry Pi – so in other words, compact systems with a lot of potential. In addition, I have a soft spot for all kinds of wearables, especially smartwatches. My main profession is as a laboratory engineer, which is why neither scientific contexts nor the interpretation of complex measurements are foreign to me.

My fascination for technology goes back a long way to the Pentium II era. Modding, overclocking and treasuring computer hardware has since become an integral part of my life. As a student, I further developed a keen interest in mobile technologies that can make the stressful college life so much easier. After I fell in love with the creation of digital content while working in a marketing position, I now scour the web to bring you the most exciting topics in the world of tech. Outside the office, I’m particularly passionate about motorsports and mountain biking.
