Acemagic has launched a new mini PC that looks similar to the NES. This system, which was initially introduced earlier in February 2026, is currently available in China, with the launch starting price being CNY 6,499, about $941.

While it has an NES-inspired retro design, the components inside aren’t old school. To be specific, the Acemagic X5 is powered by the AMD Ryzen AI 9 HX 370, a powerful option from the Strix Point lineup. It brings the capable Radeon 890M, which is the most capable iGPU from AMD, positioned right under the Strix Halo series.

This APU can be paired with up to 128GB of DDR5 RAM and 4TB of PCIe 4.0 storage. The company highlights that the mini PC has an advanced cooling setup that can keep the core components cool during extreme loads and gaming.

There is a good selection of connectivity ports as well. More precisely, the port configuration is as follows:

• 2x USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A
• 2x USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A
• 1x USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C
• 1x DisplayPort 2.0
• 2x 2.5G Ethernet
• 1x 3.5mm audio

For wireless connections, there are WiFi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4, and thanks to the USB4 port, the mini PC is compatible with eGPUs as well (Aoostar AG02 eGPU dock curr. $219 on Amazon). Other highlights include support for quad-display output, 100W PD support, and a compact overall form factor. There’s still no word from Acemagic about when the Retro X5 will launch globally. However, the company has already introduced it through a blog post on its international site, suggesting that the global launch is around the corner.
