AYN Thor and Odin 3 new pricing revealed, to take effect in March – NotebookCheck.net News
ⓘ AYN
AYN has announced that it is bringing forward the date for the price increase of its Thor and Odin 3 handhelds. The manufacturer cites a handful of reasons, chief of them being the increasing cost of RAM and memory components.
Just a few days after announcing that it plans to increase the price of its Thor dual-screen handheld in April, it has made another announcement saying the price increase will now happen in March. The announcement also includes the new pricing details for the Thor as well as the Odin 3.
AYN took to its Discord channel to explain the reason behind its decision to implement the price adjustment earlier than planned. First, it stated that the supplier for the DRAM and storage used in the Thor and Odin 3 handhelds disclosed that the increase in the price of these components takes effect this February. The supplier also stated that the memory pricing issue is expected to extend until next year.
In addition, AYNÂ says that they also have to contend with exchange rate volatility and other increases in the cost of materials. The combination of these factors have led to the decision to bring forward the date for the price increase. So rather than April 2026 as initially announced, the new prices for the AYN Thor and AYN Odin 3 will take effect on March 8, 2026.
Below are the launch prices, current prices, and the new prices that will take effect on March 8.
| Model | Launch price | Current price | New price (effective March 8) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Thor Lite | $249 | $249 | $249 |
| Thor Base | $299 | $309 | $319 |
| Thor Pro | $349 | $369 | $399 |
| Thor Max | $429 | $449 | $489 |
| Model | Launch price | New price (effective March 8) |
|---|---|---|
| Odin 3 Base | $329 | $339 |
| Odin 3 Pro | $399 | $439 |
| Odin 3 Max | $449 | $489 |
| Odin 3 Ultra | $519 | Out of stock |
As you can see above, AYN is not raising the price of the Thor Lite, as it will maintain its launch price of $249. However, the Base has gotten a $10 increase while the Pro and Max models have increased by $30 and $40 respectively.
The Odin 3, on the other hand is just getting its first price increase. The base model has received a $10 increase while the price for the Pro and Max have increased by $40. AYN says the Ultra model, which has 24GB of RAM and 1TB of UFS 4.0 storage, is ”out of stock”. We don’t know if what it actually means is that it will no longer be produced.
All current orders will be fulfilled at their original price, and if you are yet to place your order, the next batch of pre-orders will open tomorrow, March 1.
