    Here are some hints and the answers for the NYT Connections puzzle No. 1,001 for Sunday, March 8.

    Here are four hints for the groupings in today’s Connections puzzle, ranked from the easiest yellow group to the tough (and sometimes bizarre) purple group.

    Yellow group hint: Not states.

    Green group hint: Able was I ere I saw Elba.

    Blue group hint: Scary films.

    Purple group hint: My hero, Zero.

    Yellow group: Cities.

    Green group: Palindromes.
