Don’t expect faster charging speeds on Galaxy Z Fold 7

    Android Headlines

You may be disappointed if you hoped that Samsung would enhance the charging speed for its future foldable devices. Recently leaked certifications confirm that the upcoming Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7 will maintain the same wired charging speeds as their predecessors.

According to China’s 3C authority (via Android Headlines), which recently certified both handsets, both phones are expected to retain a charging speed of 25W and feature a dedicated Samsung EP-TA800 charger, which maxes out at 25W.

This news is disappointing, especially since the Galaxy S25 Plus and Galaxy S25 Ultra support 45W charging speeds. This situation is particularly concerning given that the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7, like their predecessors, are expected to be premium devices when unveiled later this year.

The Galaxy Z Fold 7 is anticipated to feature an upgraded 200MP primary camera. It will also have larger displays and a less prominent crease on the screen, making for a more seamless look. Additionally, this new model is expected to be thinner than its predecessor. Meanwhile, the Galaxy Z Flip 7 will have a more extensive cover display. Both devices are set to include improved chipsets.

However, beyond these enhancements, we do not expect many significant changes in either foldable device. Rumors indicate that Samsung is not planning substantial updates for the Galaxy Z Fold and Galaxy Z Flip models until 2026.

Samsung will likely reveal its latest foldable devices at a Galaxy Unpacked event this summer. A Galaxy Watch 8 and Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 could also be shown at the same event, with release dates to follow soon.

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 leak shows an old design in a thinner chassis

Samsung is currently in a rather boring rut when it comes to smartphone innovation. The likes of Huawei Mate XT, Oppo Find N5, and Honor Magic V3 have redrawn the lines of competition with bold designs and impressive hardware. But it seems a course correction for Samsung will finally materialize this year.

Leakster OnLeaks (via Android Headlines) has shared alleged product renders and a video depicting the Galaxy Z Fold 7, which is poised for a global debut in the second half of 2025. The fundamental design is a familiar affair, but the side profile is noticeably slimmer compared to the Galaxy Z Fold 6.

Another One UI 7 beta has landed much sooner than we expected

Samsung’s plans to release the Android 15 update to older devices have been deferred by unforeseen issues. While the brand is braving to fix those before releasing a stable version, another subsequent One UI beta has dropped — and, it’s the second one this week.

Just days after releasing the One UI 7 beta 4, Samsung is sending out yet another beta update for the Galaxy S24 series. YouTuber and blogger Jeff Springer received the update and shared the relatively small changelog in a post on X.

I used the Oppo Find N5, here’s why it’s replacing my Galaxy Z Fold 6

After weeks of drip-teasing everyone about its new folding phone, Oppo has finally unveiled the Oppo Find N5. It’s the world’s thinnest foldable, and Oppo has addressed many of the constructive criticisms it faced with the Find N3. The result is a phone that shows that folding phones no longer need to compromise, at least on paper.

The Oppo Find N5 also addresses many of the concerns about the folding phone category as a whole. When using the Galaxy Z Fold 6 or Pixel 9 Pro Fold in public, I’ll often get asked questions like is it durable enough? Can you see the crease? What’s the battery life? What about the cameras?
