Accuro N1 promises bright photos at night with an f/1.0 lens, but its marketing is misleading – NotebookCheck.net News

Accuro’s new camera is supposed to take bright pictures, even at night (Image source: Accuro)

Accuro’s latest night vision camera is designed to capture 58MP photos and 4K video in color, even in very low light conditions. In order to do so, the manufacturer uses a particularly light-sensitive sensor and an f/1.0 lens. However, Accuro’s marketing is far from honest.

Hannes Brecher (translated by Enrico Frahn), Published 10/03/2025 🇩🇪

The Accuro N1 looks like a pair of binoculars, but it is actually a digital camera. On the front, it features a lens and a flashlight with an infrared LED. The manufacturer primarily advertises the device by claiming that it can capture bright photos and videos with low image noise, even in very low light, thanks to a particularly light-sensitive sensor and an f/1.0 lens.

A 3-watt infrared LED is utilized for bright black-and-white images even in complete darkness. However, the marketing appears to be deliberately misleading. The built-in SmartSens SmartClarity sensor supposedly records photos at a resolution of 58MP and 4K video. The issue is that there’s no 58MP SmartClarity in existence. The listed sensitivity of 7178 mV/lux*s only matches the SmartClarity SC230AI, which is a 1/2.8-inch sensor with a resolution of just 2MP.

The Accuro N1 should not be considered a serious camera, but the emergency flashlight and infrared LED could at least make the device useful for seeing in the dark, though only within a very narrow 10-degree field of view. The 3-inch display on the back has a resolution of 854 by 480 pixels and the battery has a capacity of 3,000mAh, but the manufacturer does not provide any information about battery life.

    Price and availability

The Accuro N1 is currently crowdfunding on Kickstarter until October 29. As part of the campaign, the camera can be ordered for $119 plus shipping and import fees. Shipping is expected to begin in January 2026. Although this is Accuro’s third Kickstarter project, the usual financial risks apply, as the product might not be delivered or might not meet the promised quality standards.
