AIdeaStation R1: Gaming mini PC with Ryzen AI Max+ 395 ‘Strix Halo’ APU arrives with 128 GB of RAM – NotebookCheck.net News

The Seaviv AIdeaStation R1 is one of the latest mini PCs to arrive with the extremely powerful AMD Ryzen AI Max+ 395 APU, featuring 16 cores and the discrete-class Radeon 8060S iGPU. Clearly, AMD’s Strix Halo APUs are becoming the go-to choice for many high-end mini PCs.

While most of the consumer tech world has its eyes set on IFA 2025, Chinese company Seaviv has introduced a brand-new mini PC with the extremely powerful AMD Ryzen AI Max+ 395 APU, dubbed the AIdeaStation R1. Priced at a premium, which is to be expected from a high-end mini PC, the R1 is already available for purchase from JD.com in China.

The AMD Ryzen AI Max+ 395 “Strix Halo” APU hardly needs an introduction. Packing a whopping 16 Zen 5 cores and 32 threads, the powerful APU sits at the helm of the coveted Strix Halo family. In synthetic benchmarks, the AI Max+ 395 manages to trade blows with the Ryzen 9 7945HX3D chip, which is no small feat, and sits right between the M3 Max and the M4 Max. The AIdeaStation R1 will also be equipped with 128 GB of LPDDR5X memory, and a 2 TB SSD housed inside one of two M.2 2280 slots.

However, it is the integrated GPU performance where the AMD Ryzen AI Max+ 395 APU truly shines. The Radeon 8060S iGPU features a total of 40 CUs, and can easily keep up with desktop-class discrete GPUs such as the RTX 5060 Laptop GPU. The system memory is shared between the CPU and the iGPU, which allows the iGPU access to massive amounts of VRAM, resulting in solid inferencing performance in LLMs that simply cannot fit in most consumer-class GPUs.

The Seaviv AIdeaStation R1 mini PC also features a powerful cooling system to keep thermals under control. A dual-fan cooling setup with triple-heat pipes is offered, which should be enough to tame the monstrous Strix Halo APU – at least on paper. The real-world performance of the system under load can only be verified once the product reaches reviewer’s hands. The I/O on offer is as follows:

    • Dual USB4 Type-C (with DP 1.4)
    • Dual USB 2.0 Type-A
    • Triple USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A
    • SD 4.0 slot
    • DisplayPort 1.4, HDMI 2.1
    • 3.5 mm audio jack
    • Ethernet

In terms of pricing, the Seaviv AIdeaStation R1 mini PC undoubtedly sits in the premium category. As of this writing, the powerful Strix Halo mini PC is priced at 13,999 Yuan, roughly equal to $1,960. Only one variant seems to be available for now, with the aforementioned 128 GB of memory and 2 TB storage. There are no details regarding a global launch, although interested buyers can always opt for the GMK Evo-X2 (currently $1,999 on Amazon), which also sports the Ryzen AI Max+ 395 APU.
