Earlier this month, Asus updated its gaming mini-PC series with its first AMD model. Resembling the ROG NUC 2025, we initially believed that this new variant would slot in amongst the Intel-powered editions that Asus already sells (curr. $2,399.99 on Amazon). However, Asus has now clarified that this is not the case.

Instead, the company has introduced its new mini-PC globally as the ROG GR70. Visually, the ROG GR70 and ROG NUC 2025 are identical with the same overall design, front-facing ports and dimensions. As the video below shows, the ROG GR70 measures approximately 280 x 180 x 60 mm, which corresponds with a 3 litre case size. Additionally, the new mini-PC contains the following ports:

Likewise, the ROG GR70 mirrors the ROG NUC 2025 with Wi-Fi 7 support, two SODIMM slots and a pair of M.2 2280 slots. Please note that it only supports PCIe 5.0 SSDs. By contrast, Asus restricts the mini-PC’s other M.2 2280 slot to PCIe 4.0 speeds.

Currently, Asus has confirmed that the ROG GR70 will be available with an AMD Ryzen 9 9955HX3D processor and an Nvidia GeForce RTX 5070 laptop GPU. In short, the new model should offer slightly higher CPU performance than Asus’ earlier Core Ultra 9 275HX editions. Although global pricing and availability remain unknown for now, Asus is already selling its new gaming-focused mini-PC in China for CNY 14,999 (~$2,113).
