Asus rolls out major firmware update for ROG Ally, ROG Ally X, ROG Xbox Ally and ROG Xbox Ally X – NotebookCheck.net News

A new update for Asus ROG Ally consoles has been announced (image source: Asus)

The ACSE 2.1.15.0 update is now rolling out for the entire Asus ROG Ally lineup. ROG Xbox Ally X users get to fine-tune the P/E-cores of their handhelds individually.

Asus has rolled out a major update for the ROG Ally lineup. It encompasses every handheld ever released (ROG Ally, ROG Ally X, ROG Xbox Ally, and ROG Xbox Ally X), although features differ on a model-by-model basis. The ACSE 2.1.15.0 update is rolling out to all devices via Armoury Crate and can be downloaded now.

Asus ROG Xbox Ally X users can now fine-tune the P/E-cores on their Ryzen Z2 Extreme SoC individually. The option can be found in the ‘Performance’ tab under ‘More settings’. The handheld also features improved haptic feedback on triggers and fixes a bug caused by Auto Super Resolution.

Other notable improvements for the four handhelds include baking the AMD Radeon Chill functionality into Asus’ FPS limiter. Radeon Chill is a power-saving feature that reduces the workload on the CPU/GPU in less resource-intensive sections of games. Lastly, Radeon Super Resolution (RSR) is switched off by default and will have to be enabled manually on a title-by-title basis.

You can find the full changelog on Asus’ website. Most changes, understandably, focus on the new ROG Xbox Ally and ROG Xbox Ally X, but the older consoles also get some meaningful improvements.
