The newer model costs a lot more though – I’ve found the White Smoke variant at Myer or Deep Plum at Amazon, both with 15% discounts – and the Gen 1 release is still a tremendous set of in-ears that will plunge you into a cocoon of total silence.

In our Bose QuietComfort Ultra earbuds review, our tester found the ANC performance to be class-leading (at the time, of course), and the Immersive Audio feature is genuinely impressive. They were missing multipoint connectivity at launch, but this was been fixed via firmware update. They do miss out on wireless charging unless you invest in a separate case, but they still rank among the best wireless earbuds in Australia.
