Malaysia has become the stage for a global first with the debut of the BYD SEAL 6 EV, launched by BYD Sime Motors, the official distributor of BYD cars in the country. This milestone marks BYD’s seventh model in Malaysia and signals the brand’s growing commitment to making electric mobility more attractive, practical, and accessible to local drivers.

A New Era for C-Segment Sedans

The SEAL 6 EV arrives with the tagline “Precision. Passion. Aligned.” emphasizing its blend of engineering precision, driving passion, and balanced design.

It is the first BYD model to feature a dual ball-joint MacPherson strut front suspension paired with a rear multi-link setup, delivering sharper handling and greater stability. With rear-wheel drive—rare in the segment—the car promises a sporty yet refined drive that stands out in its class.

Sized as the largest C-segment sedan in Malaysia, the SEAL 6 EV offers supreme handling thanks to a tight 5.5-meter turning radius and a more balanced weight distribution.

Practicality is not overlooked either, with 24 smart storage compartments and a generous 525 liters of cargo space. Powering the sedan is a 160kW motor producing 330Nm torque, allowing it to sprint from 0–100km/h in 7.5 seconds, with three selectable driving modes to suit different conditions.

Premium Comfort Meets Everyday Practicality

Inside, the SEAL 6 EV is designed to rekindle the joy of driving. The quiet, premium cabin features ergonomic touches and seamless connectivity, while offering ample space for both urban commutes and long-distance travel. Customers can choose from two variants—Dynamic (RM100,000) and Premium (RM115,800)—with exterior colors in Arctic White, Harbour Grey, and Misty Blue, paired with a Black + Grey interior.

Exclusive launch perks sweeten the deal for the first 800 customers. Landed property owners will receive a free wall charger worth RM3,288 plus an RM3,000 rebate, while high-rise residents can opt for the Sime Platinum 4+ doorstep charging package valued at RM5,000, alongside an RM1,000 rebate. All buyers also get a Vehicle-to-Load adapter, a Type 2 charging cable, and a comprehensive warranty package covering the vehicle (6 years/150,000km), drive unit (8 years/160,000km), and Blade Battery (8 years/160,000km).

Since entering Malaysia, BYD Sime Motors has sold over 20,000 vehicles and expanded to 37 outlets nationwide, with plans to reach 50 outlets by 2026.
