Capcom H1 2025 sales and profits up YoY thanks to Monster Hunter Wilds and “anticipation” for Resident Evil Requiem

Net sales, operating profit, and net income were up by 53.7%, 90.8%, and 72.8%, respectively

Capcom has released its financial results for the six months ended September 30 2025, reporting another bumper period with net sales, operating profit, and net income all up by 53.7%, 90.8%, and 72.8%, respectively.

The Japanese megacorp attributes the success to growing catalog sales for series titles, such as Resident Evil Village and Resident Evil 4 supported “by heightened anticipation for the latest title in the same series following its announcement,” Resident Evil Requiem, which is slated to release in February 2026.

Street Fighter 6 also continued to contribute to earnings through the release of the Nintendo Switch 2 version in June and “active engagement in esports initiatives.”

    The numbers

For the six months ended September 30, 2025:

    • Net sales: ¥81.2 billion ($531.4 million), up 43.9% year-on-year
    • Operating profit: ¥81.1 billion ($530.7 million), up 89.8% year-on-year
    • Ordinary profit: ¥36.5 billion ($238.9 million), up 76.5% year-on-year
    • Net income: ¥27.5 billion ($179.9 million), up 80.1% year-on-year

    The highlights

In its Digital Contents business, which encompasses games, Capcom released Capcom Fighting Collection 2, Onimusha 2, Street Fighter 6, and Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess, “revitalizing support from series fans.” It brings the cumulative global sales for Street Fighter 6 to over five million units.

Clamor for Resident Evil Requiem has has a knock-on effect on other Resident Evil games, with sales of Devil May Cry 5 also “strong” due to “carrying out pricing strategies in accordance with the release of a TV adaptation […] building wider awareness of the company’s IP.”

With regard to Monster Hunter, unit sales for Monster Hunter Rise continue to tick up alongside Monster Hunter Wilds, sending “unit sales of catalog titles to 22.85 million units, exceeding the 18.95 million units recorded” over the sale period last year.

Overall, this saw Capcom’s net sales across its gaming segment increase by 25.3% YoY, and a 52% boost to its operating profit.

Capcom also “utilized” its popular title Street Fighter 6 in eSports activities, including the Capcom Pro Tour 2025.

The company said projections for the current fiscal year ending March 31, 2026, remain on target.
