Casio’s highly awaited G-Shock GW-BX5600 watches are now reportedly launching November 1. The two positive and negative display variants with MIP LCDs will likely be priced at ¥30,800 at launch, based on past rumors.
Some highly anticipated Casio models are dropping this fall, including the G-Steel GST-B1000 and the full-metal GMW-BZ5000D models. Another highly anticipated set of watches is arriving soon, and they are the two Casio GW-BX5600 models. As per a brand new leak from Great G-Shock World, the watches will be officially unveiled next month in November.
Both versions of the GW-BX5600 – the standard and the blackout – will boast high-contrast MIP LCD panels, a big upgrade over the legacy displays still found in most G-Shock “square” models. These new screens should deliver much sharper, more readable digits in all lighting conditions, which is something users have been requesting for years. The enhanced MIP LCD will have a customizable photo-negative mode, giving buyers the choice between positive and negative display settings. The models will also integrate radio-solar Multi Band 6, full Bluetooth smartphone sync, and the Tough solar charging platform that Casio’s upper-tier G-Shocks are known for.
Colorways at launch include a standard positive display variant and a negative display model, both priced at ¥30,800 (~$201) (tax incl.). Scheduled reservation for Japan is set to open at midnight on November 1 – the official announcement and regional pre-orders are expected to follow closely for other Asian and international markets. Since the company will likely market the GW-BX5600 models as natural successors to the GW-M5610U (curr. $120 on Amazon), demand at launch is expected to be extremely high.
With the recent wave of high-profile G-Shock leaks – including the all-metal BZ5000 and updates to the G-Steel family – the BX5600 drop should round out an unusually ambitious fall for Casio. That’s not to say that more new models won’t be introduced for the remainder of this year.
