Casio has launched two new feature-packed G-Shock Mudmaster watches as part of its Master of G-Land series. The latest G-Shock GG-B100XM-1A and GG-B100XMB-1A combine the mud-proof, shockproof design the Mudmaster line is known for with Casio’s quad sensor stack, which enables features like measurement of direction, altitude, barometric pressure, temperature, and step count right from your wrist.

Designed for harsh terrestrial environments where debris and soil are constant threats, the new G-Shock Mudmaster series showcases a rugged aesthetic centered on a forged stainless steel bezel, with the bezel featuring a complex, uneven shape with meticulous finishing that highlights the durability of the design. The silver-colored GG-B100XM utilizes a matte finish achieved through honing, a processing technique that enhances scratch resistance against mud and dust while reducing light reflection. Meanwhile, the GG-B100XMB sports a black IP treatment with a mirror finish, offering a sophisticated, lustrous look.

Both watches are identical save for the different finishes and colors of their bezels and feature carbon fiber-reinforced resin for high airtightness and protection against deformation. Casio has also added a mud-proof filter and a shock-resistant glass fiber-reinforced resin back cover for added durability.

The GG-B100 series also packs a quad sensor setup for precise tracking of environmental data, including a digital compass, a barometer, a temperature sensor, and an accelerometer for step counting. You also get Bluetooth connectivity, which lets you connect the watch to your smartphone via the Casio app, and a feature called Mission Log, which automatically records altitude data from the watch and syncs it with GPS route data from your phone for detailed trekking logs. 

Unlike the more premium Mudmaster models like the GWG-B1000TLC, the G-Shock GG-B100XMB and B1000XM miss out on niceties like solar charging and Multiband 6 radio. But you do get features like world time, up to 200-meter water resistance, automatic time correction through the phone app, up to 2 years of battery life, sunrise/sunset times, a powerful double LED light, 5 daily alarms, a stopwatch, and a calendar.

The GG-B100XM-1A is priced at ¥58,300 ($375), while the GG-B100XMB-1A comes in at ¥60,500 ($389). Both models go on sale in Japan later this month, with the US and other global markets expected to follow in the coming weeks.
