Clicks Communicator announced: the modern answer to a classic BlackBerry device
Clicks, the brand that’s famous for its iPhone keyboard case has announced the Clicks Communicator, its very first smartphone powered by Android 16, it is now available for reservation on Clicks’ official website with an early bird pricing of $399, excluding a $30 shipping and handling fee, and prices are set to revert to $499 once the preorder period is over after 27 February 2026.
Measuring at 12mm thick and weighing 170g, Clicks believed that the Communicator won’t be a primary device for many but rather to complement their current devices for texting, the phone features a 4.03-inch AMOLED display that’s rather similar to the Z Flip7’s cover screen, while featuring a punch hole 24MP front camera on the top left, it makes this a more compact device than its competitor, such as the Unihertz Titan 2, that boasts a larger 4.5-inch display.
While Clicks hasn’t revealed the SoC it will be using for the Communicator, it merely mentions a 4nm Mediatek processor, which we can probably assume it to be the Dimensity 7400 based on the price, it also comes with 256GB of storage with MicroSD expansion, a 4000mAh Silicon Carbon battery with support for Qi2 wireless charging, a 3.5mm headphone jack and a physical kill switch on the side, which is overall a very modest mid-range offering for a modern smartphone.
What makes the Communicator really unique is the notification LED built into its power button that corresponds to different messaging apps, the keypad is also touch sensitive for performing gestures that makes text selection easier, users can also customize shortcuts to perform actions with the keypad, while details remain scarce on what you can actually do with it.
Overall, the Clicks Communicator is set to be a really interesting device, though its features and specs sure fall behind modern bar phones and even the Unihertz Titan 2, its most direct competitor, we have preordered one and see how it goes.
