Cooler Master’s 3D heat pipe tech for improved CPU cooling is a budget upgrade coming soon – NotebookCheck.net News

Cooler Master has given more value to its budget friendly air cooler, the Hyper 212, with a 3D heat pipe upgrade. This adds another set of heat pipes running through the middle of the heatsink fin-stack for a more even distribution of heat.

There are a few well established brands when it comes to CPU cooling, and Cooler Master has been delivering value for money air cooling options for years. Continuing its pursuit, the company first unveiled the Hyper 212 3DHP CPU cooler, an upgraded version of the original Hyper 212 series with a 3D heat pipe system, at Computex. The cooler has now been priced and will reach customers soon.

The Hyper 212 3DHP introduces a unique and first of its kind 3D heat pipe design. Accompanying the standard heat pipes going up through the heatsink fin stack is another set of heat pipes that run through the middle. Cooler Master states this enables a more uniform dissipation of heat across the fin-stack, rather than two ends of the heatsink carrying most of the heat. The photos below show how the 3D heat pipe tech works.

On paper, its simple yet ingenious, but real-world tests will tell the true story. Cooler Master has not shared any temperature values for reference. It has, however, stated that there will two versions of the Hyper 212 3DHP air cooler, an ARGB and a Black variant. They will have the same specifications in terms of dimensions, a 120 mm fan with up to 2,050 RPM, and max noise output of 27 dBA. The company is offering a five-year warranty with these coolers which is three years more than its other air coolers.

The Hyper 212 3DHP Black is priced at $30, the same price as the standard Hyper 212 Black with one 120 mm fan (currently listed for $25 on Amazon). Pricing for the ARGB variant has not been shared yet. While availability has not been confirmed, the coolers should start showing up at retailers and the official website soon.
