Apple may have a slow start when it comes to making AAA game titles available on Macs, but looks like the prowess of Apple Silicon Macs have finally captured the attention of CD Projekt Red, the game publisher that’s famous for Cyberpunk 2077 and The Witcher series, and the former game is coming to Apple Silicon Macs starting 17th July 2025.

In fact, the game developer has made the announcement last year that it will be porting Cyberpunk 2077 to Apple Silicon Macs and will be made available early this year but obviously with apparent delays probably due to technical challenges, but nevertheless, it is better late than never.

While Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Edition will support Mac devices running M1 to M4 chips, you will need to have at least 16GB RAM and be on macOS 15.5. Don’t go tuning up all the graphics settings to Ultra either, as the game features a ‘For this Mac’ graphical feature, which will automatically tune graphics settings that works best for the type of Mac configuration you own.

Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Edition takes advantage of Apple’s Metal API for graphics, which has long been available since iOS 8 on iPhone, the most recent Metal 4 API features ray-traced graphics for M4 powered Macs and similar to NVIDIA’s RTX GPUs, it is capable of using Apple Silicon’s NPU for machine learning capabilities to upscale graphics and generate more frames.
