Deleted video reveals the Anbernic RG Vita Pro will dual boot Android and Linux – NotebookCheck.net News
ⓘ Anbernic
A now-deleted YouTube video has revealed that Anbernic’s RG Vita Pro will ship with two operating systems. The handheld will follow in the footsteps of some older Anbernic devices such as the Anbernic RG353P.
Just before the Chinese holidays, Anbernic announced two new handhelds — the RG Vita and RG Vita Pro —inspired by Sony’s PlayStation Vita handheld. While we already know everything about the RG Vita, save for its price and release date, Anbernic has kept a tight lid on the RG Vita Pro. However, a now-deleted YouTube video revealed a key detail about the handheld.
According to the deleted video, the Anbernic RG Vita Pro will ship with dual operating systems, unlike the standard version which runs Android 12 out of the box. Based on the video, the RG Vita Pro will run both Android and Linux out of the box. This comes as a bit of a surprise as a leak revealed the device running a Linux operating system, but didn’t say anything about it being a dual-OS device with Android as the second OS.
Nevertheless, the RG Vita Pro isn’t the first dual-OS handheld, it isn’t even Anbernic’s first. Other dual OS handhelds include the Anbernic RG353P and the more recent Abxylute E1. It is not clear why Anbernic deleted the video, which also showed the device’s gaming capability, but our guess is that it was probably posted earlier than planned. So there’s a chance it might be back up in the near future.
The Anbernic RG Vita Pro will have a 5.46-inch 60Hz display with a 1920 x 1080 resolution. It will be powered by the Rockchip RK3576 paired with 4GB of RAM. It will also have Bluetooth 5.0, Wi-Fi 5, and a 5,000mAh battery with support for 18W charging.
