EA Sports FC 26 Switch 2 beta testers claim its 30 fps visuals don’t maximize handheld’s specs – NotebookCheck.net News
Boosted Switch 2 specs enable publishers like EA to offer feature parity with other consoles. Despite the added power, some EA Sports FC 26 beta testers are reporting disappointing performance. The two most frequent complaints are with its 30 fps graphics and missing crossplay.
Past versions of EA Sports FC or FIFA on Switch consoles lacked the capabilities of their current-gen counterparts. Nintendo’s older handheld also struggled to produce comparable graphics. When the publisher unveiled EA Sports FC 26 for the Switch 2, it promised feature parity with the PS5 and Xbox Series X. Unfortunately, beta testers are discovering performance limitations, even with improved Switch 2 specs.
How EA Sports FC 26 may come up short on the Switch 2
Games can evolve after developers consider feedback from playtests. Still, regular EA Sports beta testers often find minimal changes before final releases. That’s especially the case with graphics, which is a focus of criticism with the Switch 2 game. One common concern is that the football action only renders at 30 fps.
If visual fidelity were a massive leap from older Switch versions, players might find the framerate acceptable. Opinions vary, but the most vehement critics question whether EA’s Switch 2 gameplay video was misleading. ResetEra posters are debating whether captured screenshots from the beta match the graphics in the footage. Some observers argue the player models have barely evolved, while others see more notable improvements.
Another issue is the apparent lack of crossplay between the Switch 2 and other consoles. NBA 2K26 will also suffer from the same drawback on its September 5th release date. While hardly uncommon, exceptions like Street Fighter 6 exist. Some gamers question whether feature parity can exist when player bases are cut off from other platforms.
With the Switch 2’s added power, comes greater expectations
WWE 2K25 may be partly responsible for raising expectations for Switch 2 games like EA Sports FC 26. Even if the title’s graphics are a slight step down from the PS5 or Xbox Series X, it boasts 60 fps visuals. However, publishers may soon become frustrated with similar comparisons. In reality, the Switch 2 specs put the console more in line with the PS4 or Series S. Even so, as developers spend more time implementing advantages like DLSS, gamers may benefit.
Players can judge the game’s performance for themselves on the September 26th EA Sports FC 26 release date.
