The Deep of Night is an upcoming hard mode for Elden Ring Nightreign and while FromSoftware hasn’t released it yet, modders have managed to unlock it. Players can experience the first round but they will not get any points from it.

Early this month, August, a datamine hinted at a new mode called ‘The Deep of Night’ coming to Elden Ring Nightreign. While there has been no confirmation of this mode from FromSoftware, it looks like modders have jumped a few steps ahead and made the mode playable. So, there are definite spoilers ahead but if you want to try the mode yourself, the mods are available online.

Posted on the Nexusmods website, a mod called ‘Deep of Night and Everdarks unlocked regulation’ allows Nightreign players to unlock The Deep of Night game mode. It hasn’t been made official yet but players can go through at least one round in this much harder mode. YouTuber Cell has shared gameplay (linked below, spoilers) and some information about what this mode entails.

It is an infinite mode that is more difficult than the regular mode. There are new red enemies that are tankier and deal more damage. There are new weapons as well, some with two passive buffs and one debuff. The Deep of Night mode also allows players to equip up to six relics for facing tougher enemies. As it stands now, while players can try out the new game mode, they will not earn any points.

Neither FromSoftware nor publisher Bandai Namco have shared any information on a release date for The Deep of Night. At the time of writing, the video by Cell is still up on their YouTube channel but it could be taken down for sharing unreleased content. Similarly, the mod is still available, for now.
